About Dr Gloria Fong

Dr Gloria Fong is a specialist dermatologist and fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in both public and private practice in Sydney, Australia. She holds appointments at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She offers comprehensive dermatological care for patients of all ages, with expertise in both adult and paediatric dermatology.

Dr Fong has a particular interest in managing a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, psoriasis, eczema and paediatric dermatology. Additionally, she places a strong emphasis on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of skin cancer, recognising the vital role that timely intervention plays in improving patient outcomes.
 
After completing her medical degree from the University of Sydney, Dr Fong gained valuable experience during her internship and residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She then spent an additional year working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s dermatology department as the advanced therapies (biologics & targeted small molecules) and clinical trials doctor. Following this, she obtained 4 years of specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Westmead Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
 
Dr Fong has a strong academic background in research and evidence-based care. She has been awarded many scholarships, grants and awards. Prior to medicine, she lived and worked as a biomedical researcher in Canada and Sweden which led to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focusing on collagen rich tissue. She has ongoing research activity in dermatology. Her research has been presented both nationally and internationally and has led to a number of peer reviewed publications.  

 

Dr Fong is dedicated to guiding and educating the next generation of dermatologists. She delivers dermatology services as a Staff Specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, overseeing both general dermatology and biologics clinics by supervising doctors in training. In addition, she serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Children's Hospital Westmead, where she runs a general paediatric dermatology clinic and contributes to the inpatient and consultative dermatology service. A passionate educator, Dr Fong is deeply committed to mentoring and teaching medical students and serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney.

Dr Fong is available for private consultations at Drummoyne Dermatology.

Dr Fong consults publicly at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for adult patients (aged 16 years and over) and at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for paediatric patients (under 16 years of age).

Referrals from GPs or specialists should follow the correct referral process for each clinic.
