Meet Dr Gloria Fong

Adult and Paediatric Specialist Dermatologist
Dr Gloria Fong is a specialist dermatologist based in Sydney and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD). Practising in both public and private settings, she provides comprehensive, evidence-based dermatological care for patients of all ages, from newborns to adults.
She currently holds consultant appointments at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she manages complex clinical cases, supervises doctors in training, and contributes to the latest developments in dermatology through clinical research.
Her medical journey began at the University of Sydney, followed by specialist dermatology training across Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Westmead Hospital, and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Prior to medicine, she lived and worked as a biomedical researcher in Canada and Sweden, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused on collagen-rich tissue research. This deep scientific background remains a cornerstone of her approach to dermatology, underpinning thoughtful, science-driven care for her patients.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Fong is dedicated to guiding and educating the next generation of medical professionals. She is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and maintains a strong commitment to medical education, regularly teaching medical students, paediatric trainees, and general practitioners. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at both national and international conferences.
Dr Fong believes that dermatological care should be thoughtful, individualised, and grounded in sound clinical judgement. Her approach focuses on careful assessment and clear communication, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their long-term skin health. Outside of work, Dr Fong values time with her family and enjoys exploring Sydney’s vibrant scene of new cafes and restaurants. She is also fluent in conversational Cantonese.
